After parking elsewhere, walk over to LA Live. This shopping center, located across the street from the Staples Center, is a whirlwind of activity before a game or concert, and depending on what kind of convention is going on at the nearby convention center,  there can be an interesting mix of people. So sit back and take it all in for a few minutes. There are a lot of restaurants and bars here, but they’re not particularly enticing. Have a snack or drink if you like, and then proceed to the Grammy Museum.

You don’t need to be a music buff to enjoy this fun and engaging museum. The Grammy Museum is high-tech and hands-on. Some displays allow you to explore how musical trends develop over the decades. Other exhibits feature musicians from different genres and parts of the world. You can even try your hand at playing drums, piano, synthesizer or even rapping or mixing audio.  They have tour costumes from famous names including Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Elvis, Taylor Swift and more. What do all of these outfits have in common? Sparkles, of course! Sparkles are the key to success.

You need only walk a block away from the touristy hubbub to get to this fantastic find. The tables decoupaged with 80’s bands, the Peachee Folder drink menus, and movies playing in the background set the stage for a unique and delicious meal. Their specialty are Briks, which are a savory North African pastry, kind of like an empanada or samosa. The Briks come with a variety of fillings, but every type (excluding the desserts) has an egg inside, which creates a perfect moist sauce when you cut into it. They also have delicious flatbreads and mains. You can even have a dessert Brik filled with fruit and Nutella topped with ice cream.
